As an added bonus, you can either add if they played tomorrow, or if we’re pretending they met in March (allowing assumptions for how this years squad could continue to improve).
Here’s why I ask... the no. 2 seed, the JP prince no. 1 Memphis beaters, the elite 8 squad... they all seemed (to me) to be a lot streakier (within the game, and the season) than Barnes’ group this year. Your article was spot on about the chemistry, I’ve never seen anything like it here, it’s as if there are zero egos on the entire roster.
I’m just so impressed with how steady and in control this years bunch seems to be, and to be trending towards. In a best of 10 I’d probably take this group over the 2 seed team w Lofton (my favorite vol b-ball player), or the team that beat Memphis. Those teams could certainly beat this years team, but I don’t see the same consistency. Elite 8 squad had things clicking, they were a fun bunch to watch.
