We have a request from a homeowner that wants to build a semi-detached garage addition to fit their truck. They bought the house house site unseen from California and realized when they moved in that their truck wouldn't fit length wise in the garage (don't ask me, they are rich idiots)
There is a clause in our HOA CCRs that states "any detached structure must conform and be in harmony with the external design of the principal structure on the lot.
My question is does a semi-detached front facing garage door with front facing siding conform with a principal residence that has no front facing siding (all brick) and side facing garage?
Can we strictly interpret this language to stop them from doing this addition? There are no front facing garages on the street and no semi detached structure this large that jut out from the side of the principal residences of the houses in the neighborhood.
