As of today the Vols have 9 commits from the state in the 2018 class. I was looking over the latest Rivals250 this morning and the Vols only had 1 of 3 Tennessee players in the Rivals100 committed to them (Emerson, Mays, Davis). Then in the Rivals250 we only had 1 out of 5 committed to the Vols (Taylor, King, Iyama, Teague, Wray) of those ranked between 101 - 250. With our need on the OL and DB I wonder if we didn't give up on Iyama and King too soon. Davis and Wray were never going to attend UT, and we know what happened with you know who. Also we fought for Teague and lost out to OSU. We did get some good players in 4 star guys Carvin, Lawless, and Banks and some 3 star guys who we will see how they pan out in the end (Antonutti, Warren, Lane). That leaves Deandre Litaker and the saga that is going on there whether he ends up in this class or not (personally I hope so). There were 3 other 4 stars who ended up signing with other teams also (Kundarrias Taylor, Camron Johnson, Brendan Harris). To be successful I think we have got to own the state and although we are having a good year overall in recruiting, I think we missed some good players in the state. How do you think we did?
