I'm assuming that any player that was on a team during the no-tournament year, even a redshirt freshman, have 5 to play 5. Difference being a guy like Fulky would now count against the scholarship limit, unlike last year. Is that accurate?
Seems like this would be a tough situation for coaches, especially for middle-top programs. If you have a guy that isn't going to get a pro-career it seems like a tough call to give him the scholarship he probably deserves for missing the covid year tournament over a HS prospect with pro level skillset potential. I'm assuming this is why VBJr appears to still be on the team as a non-scholarship player. Will be more interesting with a guy like Uros. I'm sure whatever mechanism was used to keep VBJr on the team would be used again for other players to get through this period
