TL,DR - skip to the end for one sentence summary

Ill find x amount of reasons on why a coach will win here or turn it around(till there is 0 hope)

I did it for Dooley. Don’t remember what my reasoning was for him being able to win and I gave up after the last Florida game.

I did it for Jones. I convinced myself he rebuilt or kept building on the programs after Kelly. Which he might have very well did but those programs aren’t Tennessee and Jones doesn’t have the mentatily to coach a major program.

I convinced myself he would learn from all of these mistakes we had every year but he almost seems worse today than year 1.

Basically and once again I have given up on him after Florida. It was actually the vandy game last year but whatever. With any average game day coach we are on a 4 game minimum win streak over Florida. And a good coach will beat them next year as well.

After all this, whether we hire Taggart, Mullen, or whoever I’ll look their resume over and I’ll find the good in it, I’ll find the good in their staff and I’ll give them a few years to get their program running(statistics show 2 years) before questioning whether he is the guy. Cause honestly, what is the point of tearing a guy down or saying he isn't going to get it done when you know he is here for 3 years minimum anyways.

But just once I would like to not have to convince myself UT made a good hire. In the end it doesn’t matter(well it does) if it works out as long as UT showed me they cared. Go do whatever it takes(in before spending other people’s money) to get a proven guy the majority of the fan base can get behind from the start.

Go get a Gruden offer him 10 mil a year and whatever he needs for a staff. Whatever it cost, trust me the money will be returned 10x fold. Charge 20 bucks a ticket for the spring game and see if it doesn’t sell out.

Go get a Kelly a proven college coach with nfl experience. A guy we know won't back down and coach scared.

Go get a Fisher, Peterson, Patterson, etc... another proven coach who has won at extremely high levels. Go offer them 2 million more than they make, offer huge incentives for beating rivals, winning the east, etc... offer their staffs more money.

These are just guys mentioned the most but the list is long. Yes I know for every coach there is a reason we cant get them according to this board and that might be true. How about instead of being reactive UT takes a proactive response. Be that first or one of the first programs that goes out there and steals a great coach.

This is one of the most passionate fanbases in the world. You see how we are during the worst decade in school history. Just imagine the fan support if the program just showed a glimmer of hope and "they get it."

Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson they are showing the world how its done. You want higher revenue, you want more ticket sales, you want better academics? Put a winning product on the field and everyone from the VFL director to Bev can all give themselves raises.

Tennessee
Top 5 fanbase and support
Iconic 100k stadium
Facilities to match anyone
SEC
Highest recruiting budget
Great recruiting base(TN is getting much better and close to Virginias, Carolinas, Georgia, etc...)

TL,DR

Go Vols and go fvck yourself, that was a good read.
