Sure it would have been nice to be more competitive but I'm not sure what else to expect when the best team in America sends its ones on offense out against basically our twos and threes on D. In some cases fours (or scout team)
In all our anticipation for this year we still KNEW we were going to be a good team that was getting closer to championship level but not quite just yet. We all knew we were going to lose a game or two.
Furthermore, if I told you before the season in mid October we would be down to 70 or less healthy scholarship players, had to burn redshirts just to field a healthyO-line, and were missing Sutton, Maybin, Kirkland, OBrien, McKenzie, Sapp, Abernathy, Foreman, (who did I miss?) on D,
No one would believe we could still somehow be 5-2 and still have a decent shot at the 10 win season most of us were expecting in the first place!
