How did these words and ultimately Peyton's decision to return his senior year affect not only Tennessee but the NFL as well. Obviously most of us know the impact it had on UT but here are some things I was thinking about in regards to the NFL and maybe some of you can shed some more light on:
1. Rams selected Orlando Pace #1 overall. If Peyton declared would they have taken him? Who was their QB?
2. Only 1 QB taken in the first round, Jim Druckenmiller to 49ers 26th overall. Did the 25 teams in front of them not need a QB or was the draft that bad in the QB position?
3. I think the draft at QB position was "just that bad" because only 10 QBs were taken (most of them in the last 2-3 rounds and not 1 of them had any kind of a successful career.
So that brings the question/speculation.....if Peyton declared, who would have drafted him? I think regardless of who did he would have changed their franchise.
