Vol fans were destroyed nationally when Greg Schiano was announced and the protests, emails, and threats of stopping donations ensued, but in my humble opinion, through that effort, Vol fans saved this program.
Having read Jesse and Brent’s piece, I believe Tennessee would have remained in their mediocrity for an extended period of time if things didn’t change at the top. Fulmer has clearly gotten Tennessee to act like they want to compete again, and that means spending money. I don’t know if Pruitt will win big here, but I know that if Tennessee commits to winning again by spending the money needed to keep up with Clemson and Alabama, Tennessee will not look like it has for the past decade of embarrassment.
Thanks fellow Vol fans for saying you have had enough, and hopefully bringing back the program that represents my home to its former glory.
