So first things first, I'm a nerd. #NerdNation. Proud of that, and here's what I did. I used a program called "Bruteforce" and "EA DB Editor" to modify my copy of NCAA 14' after the conference championship week to include a modern day playoff. If you guys are interested, I'll post the instructions in another post below.

Since everyone else is posting about stupid things that appear to flow from their stream of consciousness, I figured I'd let you guys know what I did with the first couple days of my vacation before I return to private practice.

At any rate, I created an 8 team CFB Playoff. To do this, I created true Power 5 conferences and gave each conference champion an automatic bid. The SEC was redone to include following:

EAST: Tennessee, UGA, UF, South Carolina, UK, Vandy. West Virginia, VT
WEST: Bama, AU, LSU, Tex A&M, Mizzou, Miss State, Ole Miss, Ark

Note: You'll all be happy to know your UT Vols are the winners of 8 straight SEC titles and 7 straight national titles. I'm trying to make the game as hard as possible at this point...VT is really strong in this virtual world, as is Mizzou, Texas A&M and LSU. UF was strong, and then they met us... Bama is also straight trash in this world; something about playing the national champion every year, who knew it would be hard...

I made other modifications like adding Notre Dame, USF, and Navy to the ACC and realigned the divisions.

Atlantic: ND, Navy, Clemson, Wake, NC State, USF, BC, Louisville
Coastal: GT, Miami, FSU, UNC, Syracuse, Pitt, UVA, Duke

I added San Diego State and Boise State to the PAC 12 (now the PAC 14).

PAC-14 North: Washington, Oregon, Cal, Stanford, Or. State, Boise St., Wash. St.
PAC-14 South: USC, Ariz. St., Colo., Utah, Ariz., UCLA, San Diego St.

I added Memphis, Houston, BYU, SMU and Cincinnati to the Big 12 (I figured they'd keep their name even if it were 14, per what they do now), split the conference along North and South lines and added a Conference Championship game (the system was set to 2013 settings). Texas is in the South Division with

Big 12 North: OU, Baylor, Ok. St., Cinci, Iowa St., Kan St., SMU
Big 12 South: Texas, TCU, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Memphis, Texas Tech

I added Connecticut and Army to the Big Ten.

Big Ten East: OSU, Penn St., Army, Illinois, IU, Maryland, UConn, Purdue
Big Ten West: Michigan, Mich. St., Neb, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Rutgers

Side Note: For each of these realignments, I tried to balance them for basketball as well. Additionally, I gave half a thought to how each conference and school would perceive the move given their relative position in my football virtual recruiting world.

Anyways, THE 2022 CFB PLAYOFF:

The conference champions were:
#1 Tennessee (SEC)
#2 Washington (PAC 14)
#3 Texas (Big 12)
#4 Georgia Tech (ACC)
#5 Michigan

At-large bids were given to:
#6 Notre Dame (Second in the ACC after Conf. Championships and 11-1, loss to Ga. Tech)
#7 Texas A&M (Second in SEC after Conf. Championships and 10-2, losses to Mizzou, VT)
#8 Bowling Green (MAC Conf. Champions, loss to Toledo; leap-frogged Ohio who was 11-1)

East Regional Playoff: 1 Tennessee 45 v. 8 Bowling Green 28
West Regional Playoff: 2 Washington 31 v. 7 Texas A&M 40
South Regional Playoff: 4 Georgia Tech 42 v. 5 Michigan 45 OT
Midwest Regional Playoff: 3 Texas 20 v. 6 Notre Dame 24

The Semifinals were:
Eastern Semifinals (Sugar): 1 Tennessee 35 v. 6 Notre Dame 31
Western Semifinals (Rose) (34): 5 Michigan v. 7 Texas A&M

The Championship: 1 Tennessee 42 v. 7 Texas A&M 10

A fun experience. Pretty technical but worth it in the end. Should be quicker the next time.
