I hurt just as much as the rest of you guys, in fact I sat at that stadium for another good 30 minutes after the game, depressed. A lot of people did the same. With that being said, all this talk about Butch not having it, is just flat out ignorant. This guy lives and breaths Tennessee football, in fact he is Tennessee football right now.

Even though we lost, you have to admit, we looked a tons better than we did last year, and the crowd effin brought it for the first time in a long time. You know Stoops almost regrets firing us up, but we need to learn to bring it every dang game this year without needing a opposing coach to fire us up. What if Oklahoma really is a final four team like a lot of people think?

I hate moral victories as much as the next guy, but I'd rather lose to a dang good team in two overtimes (I'd rather win) than lose to Vanderbilt 41-18. Also I'd rather lose to a dang good team in two overtimes in a good game rather than the other team just not coming ready to play, and we just happened to stick with them. This was a hard fought game between two good teams and both teams wanted it. Oklahoma had to give it all they had just to beat us. They didn't play down to our level and just beat us in the end. It took every ounce of sooner magic they had to pull it out.

It all came down to missed tackles. We had pressured Mayfield all game long but failed to bring him to the ground. The momentum changed when it was 3rd and long, and Mayfield scrambled after breaking 4 potential sacks to force them to punt, throws a long first down pass down the sideline. This eventually leads to a touchdown, thus causing it to be a one score game instead of two. Medley's missed field goal didn't help matters either, because it would have been a three score game, and they didn't score their last touchdown till 33 seconds left on the clock. I doubt they would have gotten an onside kick and scored again.

Defense did a complete 360 after that debacle against Bowling Green. I think last night showed how important Martinez and Todd Kelly Jr really are. Sunseri could never adjust and put out a decent defense out there, but we did it in one week with this staff. This shows the staffs ability to go watch film and fix things.

Debord tried to call passing plays like you guys wanted, but remember a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and our weakest link is the offensive line. They are young and getting better everyday, but are not close to being there yet. Marquez North and Jason Croom (I know he's hurt) have disappointed me, because they look like Dez Bryant and Delenie Walker when you look at them, but don't play like them.

All of you guys saying "oh he's 1-17 against ranked teams" fail to forget how terrible the talent was the last two years. Remember Dooley and his staff didn't recruit a single offensive linemen. As far as I'm concerned, he is 0-1 against ranked teams right now.

Future is bright. As last night showed us, Georgia and maybe Kentucky, are the only two legit threats in the SEC east race right now. Also, we are about to have the best recruiting class next year, along with a top 10 class this year. Holy Cow, do you guys really want rumors that Butch is on the hot seat floating around? He's not close to being on the hot seat after losing to a good team... in two overtimes... in the second week of the season.

I've been on this board for a good 8 or so years and I know how this board tends to get fired up after a loss. I've never said anything in support of the players or the coach after the losses (never said anything bad either), but for the first time in those 8 or so years, I feel like we finally have players on the field and we are going in the right direction. That stadium had a 90's feel to it.

We lost plain and simple. No and, ifs, or buts. We knew we weren't going 15-0 this year, but we will be soon and it will be with Butch at the helm. So go ahead a vent a little, go take a jog or something, but lets settle down and go support them against Western Carolina and then Florida. These players and coaches know losing is not acceptable here and will not be tolerated. So lets give them a chance to prove that.

Also we need to stopped getting injured. Holy Cow.

TL : DR - We are fine
