Yesterday, a friend of mine was laid to rest after a year long battle with cancer. His name was Mark Self, and he was a Tennessee State Trooper. The funeral procession was simply amazing. I bet there were 20 State Trooper cars with lights going, on top of local police cars and EMS vehicles. Many people stopped, got out in the rain, and saluted as the processional passed. Really a sobering and thoughtful tribute. Just wanted to share.
