What is the timeline for Butch??
Last night was a huge step in the wrong direction for him. There have been questions about his ability to coach, roster management, game management, assistant coaching hires, etc. And now he losses one he wasn't supposed to.
If we can get to 9-3, which at this point is not a given, what is the narrative going into 2017?
If we go 8-4, or worse, does the new AD pull the plug? (Unlikely, IMO)
Can he have a bounce-back year similar to Gus Malzahn?
If Butch disappoints again in 2017, what names are on the hot board? (Yes, I am officially firing up the 2017 hot board.)
Mike Macintyre: Colorado... His HC record is not impressive but he turned around two dumpster fires in San Jose St and Colorado.
Lane Kiffin: OC Alabama... IMO he will win at his next HC job and win big. I would welcome him back with open arms. He probably gets hired this year.
Willie Taggart: South Florida... Would be a name that pops up, but others would have to tell us no first.
Jon Gruden: Seriously, could we make it happen??
Justin Fuente: He's a Texas guy IIRC so you would always worry about one of those jobs opening. Would he leave Tech for Tennessee? Maybe.
