Maybe I'm just optimistic but this is encouraging IMO.

Hospitalizations have apparently leveled off day over day, hope the trend continues (ignore the last day as incomplete data). Also important to note here that the model we are currently using (the IHME one), as of 5-6 days ago, had NYS using 50k beds by April 1st, and I believe they're "only" at about 18k - see bottom of post.

Deaths have increased recently (hopefully leveling off, then decreasing), which sucks, but important to remember deaths are a lagging indicator, i.e. deaths today were hospitalized/counted as a case 1-2 weeks ago. To sum it up: on the day the curve flattens (which we won't know until we can look back with hindsight), deaths will continue to increase day over day for the following 1-2 weeks.
