Rommates and I had waffled on going all week, finally day of the game we pile in car at 11ish and head to B'ham. Bought 4 tickets for 60/piece, right smack dab between the goal posts in the endzone where Joey Kent went 80yds on play #1.
Seats were close to Tennessee section but were a mix of Tennessee and Bama fans.
Prickhead Bama fan (redundant) in front of us sat down and said something like "be a shame when ya'll have to leave in the 3rd quarter." The irony was thick when he and his wife/gf/sister/cousin got up and left at the start of the 4th quarter.
Stopped at O'Charley's somewhere around B'ham after game and was full of Vol fans. Everytime Vol fans would come in everyone would cheer.
Got back to Knoxville around 4am, replayed first play on VCR tape, then went to bed.
Good memories.
