If you're a rival school recruiting legacy kids, what's harm in offering?

I have seen him play 6-7 times. I'll stand on a table for th kid. Athletically he is a freak and can make difficult look easy. Had he camped a bunch he would have double the offers but it's as simple as this. Some didn't offer cause they knew the end result. Just like Jackson Lampley hasn't been offered by some and told he has to visit them to gain their offer.

This was from the Warren thread by Austin. I understand the point being made but my question is what does it harm to offer the kid. If you thought Lampley could help your team, regardless if you have a shot or not, why not offer. I would hope we'd offer any former Gator or Tide players kid if they were SEC worthy.
