Is this a "good" apology?

Ok, this kid has been severely punished. Pummeled on twitter and message boards. Probably banned from practice. At this point it is simply piling on to criticize him more.

He tries to apologize but I have always found that putting excuses (multiple sources, misunderstood context) in my apologies make them less genuine. Simply apologizing always works best in my book. On the other hand I am over 50 and have made more apologies than I can count. He will learn.
