But for the first time, I can't come up with any reason to be optimistic about this football team this Fall. This also means I have no optimism for Butch, and think we're likely breaking in a new coach a year from now. This has made it difficult to tune in this Spring.

Someone give me some good reason why I'm wrong.

There's no reason to think we'll be any better at RB, WR, QB, or DL. We're thin at a lot of key positions (linebacker and DT most notably).

Even if Scott is really good, it's not like production on offense is going to increase. In all likelihood, the numbers are almost certain to go down.

I guess a second year under Shoop is a good thing, but there's no way we generate the pass rush we did last year, and our secondary better increase by leaps and bounds if opposing QBs have the time I'm afraid they will.

Maybe I'm being a negative Nancy, I don't know. Just figured I'd ask for some thoughts.
