I believe he is already a highly rated 4* guy ranked as the #11 ATH by rivals, but trust me guys, he is a guy that will challenge for 5* status as the camp season rolls around this spring and summer.
He played mostly RB at Archer HS (same as Kyle Davis and EJ Price) in GA. He was a stud at RB obviously, but he also plays some corner. Well he is transitioning to corner full time now as he realizes his best shot at the NFL is at corner, and holy smokes is he picking it up fast. The kid was always pretty well built for a smaller guy, about 5 10' 175, corner is definitely his future. He has great toughness and physicality from being a rb, but what really catches your eye is his competitiveness, cockiness, and his physicality to go along with excellent high level athleticism.
He has everything you look for, good hip turn, quick feet, strong physical hands, competes, good closing speed, good vertical, tracks the ball well etc..
I also know that he is very interested in UT and we are very interested in him. Just keep an eye out for this kid if you get a chance, he is big time IMO.
watch this recent vid of him playing db vs the top guys in the country. The 3 guys that stick out are Trevon Grimes at WR (#3 overall, best player in the class imo), Donovan Peoples Jones also a 5* WR that is visiting us this coming week on his spring break...i think we are his early favorite right now, and of course watch Jamyest Williams playing corner. I've seen Jamyest play in RL a few times while watching some Archer games, he is the real deal and he is just scratching the surface of learning how to play CB....kid will be big time, and i think we are in his top 2 or 3 right now.
Our DB recruiting is the best i've ever seen at UT in my 15 years of following recruiting.
For the 2017 class we are great shape to get 5* D'eAngelo Gibb's. I think we are in very good shape and in the top 3 for 5* Jacoby Stevens..who both would end up as our safeties. Then we are in the top 3 for 5* Lamont Wade db from PA, Jamyest Williams (future 5* imo), TJ Carter, Gentry Bonds, Theo Jackson and a few others. We also seem to be getting the attention of some of the elite guys in CA this year...so it will be interesting to see if any of them visit and where we stand after those visits. Our DB recruiting right now is as good as anyone's.
