My wife and I went to Jimmy Kelly’s for our anniversary last Saturday night. It was without question the worst dinning experience I have ever had. We arrive for our reservation and walk in where the hostess says. We are so happy you are joining us for you anniversary. We walk through a dining room and it is nice with a fountain. We then walk through near the bar area with other tables and head up the stairs. We get to what must have been a bedroom of this old house. Our anniversary reservation got is a table with my chair literally in the doorway and door knob in my face. I should have known it was going to be bad when they said it was the commodore room. So, the waiter comes up and his white coat is filthy. He talks about menu and hands us the wine list. We order a bottle. He comes back he has a horrible time trying to open the bottle. He goes to pour for my wife and his hands are shaking so bad that the bottle is clinking on her glass. He pours mine and it dribbles down the rim onto the table cloth. He completely ignores it happens. We discuss menu and specials and he states he will go get our corn cakes and come take our order. He comes back places butter on the table and we order our food. A few minutes later our plate of ranch dressing with some lettuce mixed in shows up. He leaves. We pour our own glasses of wine. They come and take our salads away and I ask my wife. Do the corn cakes not come out until the food comes. Everyone around us seem to be enjoying them as the are waiting. Next, steaks come out and I will give them that they were perfectly cooked. The loaded baked potato, was a potato and a shared bowl of shredded cheddar and bacon bits to top ourselves. Oh, and a little paper cup that had sour cream and chives. I ask on out the corn cakes and the waiter, says crap I forgot. At this point it’s comical but we are just going to enjoy the steak and dinner and be done. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I notice the man at another table looking at the ceiling and wiping his head. The air vent is dripping water all over them. We laugh again and keep eating. We finish the steaks and have just a little bit of wine to finish and are just going to enjoy before we leave. Just when you think it can’t get any worse we here a loud commotion coming from the bathroom. We here 2 men arguing. One is yelling hold the door shut. Guys says I can’t. The other screams hold the f-ing door shut and begins to barf like he is having an exorcism. My waiter was no where around, so I look at the other waiter and tell him someone better bring my check now and told him about our experience. Our waiter shows up and says, I heard there some kind of commotion in the bathroom. We then tell him about the entire experience. His response was I’m sorry. Points to a bucket in the room that we hadn’t seen that is catching water dripping from another vent. The popcorn ceiling was moldy, mildewed and peeling off in several places. We pay and leave. I thought we were going to some fine dining establishment with a great reputation. I was wrong. That place is a dump.
