JRM's dad Marcus Maybin does a sports radio show in Louisville in the morning and he always throws in a few Vol nuggets during their broadcasts after the games. He was a star Louisville basketball player back in the day, so he obviously bleeds red. He said that beating Florida was one of the bigger reasons why JRM returned and that he wanted to leave UT with a Florida victory. That's why he kept putting himself back in the game, and Marcus was like you need to just sit your behind down because he knew he was hurting. He said the range of emotions over the course of that ball game was incredible from the terrible 1st half, to the comeback, to the win. You could really feel it in the crowd from panic, to excitement, to tears. Also mentioned how good the checkerboard looked, said it was a solid checkerboard. He also said he was jealous of the traditions at UT like the Vol walk and running through the T, also mentioned how awesome Neyland is several times. Said he wish he could put Louisville's team inside Neyland so they would know what it was like to play inside that atmosphere. I thought that was saying a lot from a Louisville Alumni and formal basketball player.
I'm really glad the rest of the team was able to step up and get that win for JRM as well as Cam Sutton for that matter. I enjoyed listening to it and thought I would share.
