Just curious, how long is it taking to get results back on your COVID-19 test?

I was talking online to several people that were commenting on it taking 6-10 days to get the result back on their COVID-19 test which is shocking to me.
Once we get the specimen we run the test and send the results back the same day so typically it is about 24-36 hours from time of collection.
I am just stunned that some people are still waiting so long to get results.
FYI- The actual testing doesn't take but a couple of hours so the delay is the backlog of specimens that has to be run ahead of your specimen.
Of course I am talking the gold standard RT-PCR testing and not some rapid test.
