Getting keys waves in your face by a drunk Vandy prick yelling...warm the bus up!" is the ultimate walk of shame. I wanted to reply, "nice, you won one" like it was a rare occurrence. Then I remembered Vandy has won 3 of the last 5.
Side note: Damn it was cold.
I still am on board with Butch but something tells me he wants a way out. It's funny, all we had to do was win this game and it would be totally different for the next 6 months.
I know a lot of people don't like to hear it but in our demand for "excellence, "accountability" and a rapid return to glory, sometimes I think we set ourselves back. It's how you fire a guy like Fulmer, it's how you take a flier on a guy like Lane Kiffin (whom even Al Davis called a snake in the grass). It's how you rush the hiring of an unqualified guy like Dooley to try to save a recruiting class. It's how you force the hiring of a Dave Clawson, a Sal Sunseri, or a Bob Shoop.
It does sort of feel like we are stuck with Butch. But look around us ... UGA has Kirby, Florida has Swamp Donkey, Carolina hired a neanderthal that just got fired, UK and Vandy have two guys on and off the hot seat. Freeze's magic has worn off, Mullen seems to have been a Dak Prescott phenomenon. Malzahn went from the next Saban, to the trash heap, to TBD in less than 2 seasons. Bielema seems like a mistake, and LSU just hired the ring leader of the Wild Boyz to take the helm.
I think Alabama is destroying the SEC not just on the field but by perpetuating the myth that there is a quick fix out there. There's not.
Not saying Butch is the guy. Tonight rattled my confidence but I just worry that pitchforks and torches will lead to a further destabilization of Jones, a resulting dip in recruiting, another unappetizing coaching hot board, and the same cycle all over.
