On Feb 3rd, I custom ordered a 2022 Ford F-150 XLT because every dealership around me wants MSRP or higher for their stock at the moment. I had stumbled upon a YouTube video titled “How I Saved $8,000 on a 2021 Ford F-150” and was intrigued. As noted in the video and confirmed by myself, the current business model of Granger Ford (located in Granger, Iowa) is selling custom ordered trucks 3-5% BELOW INVOICE…let that sink in. Not MSRP, below invoice. I was shocked. Some folks in the comments said they tried to get the same deal from local dealerships only to be laughed off the lot. I reached out to the online orders salesman listed in the video, Chip Giles, and he told me to build what I wanted on the Ford website and send it to him. Within 48 I had the deal I was looking for. My $65k build is costing me $57k ($8,000 dollars) and that is BEFORE incentives so it could actually be lower when all is said and done! They are able to sell so low because they are not having to sit on the stock or keep it on the lot. Granger Ford are simply the middle man on the sale as the trucks are sold before they even arrive. Chip said they had 40 trucks show up last week with customers waiting to pick them up. So Ford is happy because they stay #1 in the truck market, Granger is happy because they get incentives and kick backs from Ford for every sale, and the consumers are happy because they are able to get a HELL of a deal at a time when the vehicle market is in chaos.
I guess the only “downside” is I have to go to Granger, Iowa to get it. However, living right outside Nashville I have discovered that Alligient Air flies direct from BNA to Des Moines, Iowa for $30-$40 one way 😂. That’s cheaper than a Greyhound ticket! From the airport it’s a 20 minute ride to the dealership and they have offered to pick me up. To get home will be a 650 mile drive back to Nashville, a 10-hour drive that can be done in the same day. So in reality I’m out $30-$40 and a day of my time for a brand new truck at a price you can’t touch on a lot right now. So I have been recommending Granger Ford and Chip Giles to EVERYONE.
Feel free to ask me any questions as I’m an open book and will be happy to share any info you may need.
