Apologies for being a little long...
I've been a Vol my entire life. I went to school at Tennessee and generations of my family have been to school there. Attended games my entire life. Been lucky enough to share tons of memorable experiences with Vol fans all over the country.
I'm a long-time member of Volquest and a recruiting junkie; I've never posted, but I follow the news here every day and have for years. I even feel like I know many of you, for better or worse.
All this to say -- I'm pretty disheartened to read the nastiness directed at our new coaches (after their first game in which they won by > 30 points) and one particular player in his first game as a Vol. I'm used to the lies, ignorance, and innuendo -- it is a message board in 2021 of course. But most of us signed up for Volquest because we love this school and its athletic programs - and I've just got to say, it stinks to come here and search for information amid an avalanche of garbage and hatred directed at our own student-athletes, coaches, and the staff here.
My two cents: You don't have to be a Tennessee fan. And while you are certainly free to criticize on a message board, I have zero respect for posters who can't differentiate criticism from a personal attack.
To the VQ staff -- you guys do a great job. Brent, Rob, Austin, Ben, Eric, thanks - I personally know many who don't post here, but I'll overstep and speak for them -- they're very appreciative of your work, too.
