Losses:Oklahoma,Florida,Arky,Alabama - Beat Northwestern Bowl Game
I am a new poster but I have followed Tennessee football since I was a kid. Growing up, Tennessee was always relevant on the National scene. Teams like LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss State were not very good. One thing that I have noticed, is there are ups and downs for every program and its cyclical. I remember when Tennessee beat Alabama 7 years in a row from 1995-2001.
We have the chance to have the best record we have had since 2001 when we won 11 games that year and lost a heart breaker to LSU in the SEC championship game.
If we win out and potentially win a bowl game, Tennessee Vols will have an 11 win season under Coach Butch Jones. If we don't win out, we are still in better shape than we have been in a decade.
Most vol fans are passionate about the program and winning as they should be. Saturday was an embarrassing loss in our stadium. That's not the first time it has happened ( see Wyoming, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Oregon etc) and wont be the last.
I don't think its time to fire the OC, or fire Butch, or question if we should have hired Shoop. I think Coach Jones is growing and evolving as CEO/Head Coach of a major program as much as the kids players are growing and evolving each week.
We hopefully will not be losing to Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missou, South Carolina anymore and we have closed the gap with Florida and Georgia. Alabama is still a stronger program and we will need a few more years to close the gap with them.
I, like every fan, would love to see a few things change or done differently, but I feel as good about Tennessee football as I have in the last 10 years. Would love to see us get those 11 wins.
Go Big Orange !!!!!
