Suppose the NCAA requires that each head coach have a 5 year contract of employment that can only be terminated for cause, such as dishonesty and substance abuse.
Players have scholarship commitments coterminous with the contract of the head coach. They cannot transfer in the first two years. They are released if the HC leaves but must be offered a voluntary extension.
National signing day is moved to July 1 and the signing period expires on July 15, thus allowing schools several months to make coaching changes.
All scholarship would be set at five years.
I understand this will never happen, but why not?
