1st half thoughts
They looked soft up the middle on defense. Think that is something we will be able to exploit for sure. Have to account for playing Akron.
I don't think their running game is gonna be special. I think Perine and Mixon will be able to make plays for them this year because they play in a bad conference and those guys are talented enough with a bad O line.
We have to make negative plays on 1st/2nd down. Their OL isn't good enough to give them time on obvious passing downs. They really struggled on 3rd down.
I don't know how much they will change their philosophy based on our game. They have a new offense from last year with a new QB and OL. Can those guys really handle an identity change in 1 week? If not, our coverage won't be tested as much deep because OU has an offense that wants to go fast and stay in front of the chains. I imagine they will try a few deep ones early to loosen the coverage up though. But, if they don't find early success throwing over the top, they could get into trouble quickly on offense because I'm not sure they really can slow us down on offense.
