I posed the question on the Rivals main board about his strengths and weaknesses

Fan # 1
“Strength: Cannon arm, decent mobility.

Weakness: Pretty much everything else. Couldn't read defenses, couldn't make accurate throws, couldn't hit his receivers in stride, couldn't "feel" the pocket, etc. Also had an absolutely terrible attitude.

Whether or not that was just poor coaching or he has a baked potato for a brain, time will tell. He is not particularly missed, and for all the program's other warts and flaws, Michigan is okay at QB without him.”

Fan #2
“Good: He can throw it over that mountain
Bad: He cannot hit a mountain that is wide open in front of him

Good: He is a very big physical runner
Bad: He is a very SLOW runner, lumbering, like the garbage truck waddling down the street.

Good: He can make a very strong throw, lot of velocity, strong arm
Bad: He makes EVERY throw with that same velocity: 5 yards or 50 yards same velocity.

Good: He goes with his first read. sometimes
Bad: When he does not go with his first read he goes with NO READ", just chucks it deep at "someone" or scrambles. There is no second read.

Good: He is a great positive leader during summer workouts and fall practice, sets an example and does all the right things.
Bad: During the season he can sulk when things don't go well.

He will be a top notch guy for Tennessee
I will watchin him play every week”

Fan # 3
“He will break some receiver's fingers with how hard he throws. There will also be a lot of balls that pop off of receiver's chests because he throws so hard. Several of those will picked off. He throws the heaters even on a 5 yard slant. If he can ever add some touch to to his passes, as opposed to throwing every ball 100 mph, he could be decent.

But it's a thing of beauty when he tosses that 50 yard pass effortlessly. Dude has a cannon for an arm.”

my thoughts…
Some of these things can be corrected with good coaching. We have an excellent QB coach… one of the very best in college football. Other things will require him to calm down in the heat of the moment. His arm strength on the deep ball sounds like Tyler Bray… not as accurate with it, but the tool is there.
