We have no choice. Pruitt cannot be fired now and should not be, even in the wake of making just about every mistake a coach can make, but with beginning by not respecting your opponent and treating the game like a scrimmage.
Since Fulmer we have hired a HC was on a steep learning curve to be a legitimate SEC head coach. Kiffin was too immature and a disaster in the making. Dooley won the presser but orange pants was in over his head. Then came the brick layer. You can't make this shit up.
After the worst coaching search in the history of football we ended up with a redneck dumbass who from all appearances could be a good coordinator when he had a team of 5 stars. No need to go any further, we all know what has happened.
UT is simply no longer an attractive place to coach. With a strained budget and with revenues going to drop unless this train wreck suddenly gets back on track, we do not have the money. Fire him now and sink even lower. Fire his after the season with no money to hire anyone else is not a solution either. We are not TAMU. Our deep pockets now have huge holes in them.
Pruitt is in over his head. He is nothing more than an old timey football coach who is not capable of all that is demanded of a UT head coach. Will he learn on the job as we squander season after season? I doubt he will ever be anything but a coordinator. But we have no choice, we own him now. And we live with the consequences. BTW, we have another scrimmage this Saturday against some team with a bunch od 1 and 2 stars. Will get to see our entire team "play" as we decide who are our best to get on the field for when the season begins. The announcer should say "it is scrimmage time in Tennessee" as the Vols enter the field.
