Im 48 and my son is a 22 year old UT Student. We debate pretty hard over who is the GOAT. My opinion is that I have followed the live career of both and MJ is definitely the GOAT. I think Lebron is the better athlete but that MJ is the best basketball player and best basketball competitor ever. I argue the defense was way more fierce in the days of MJ and that MJ just simply refused to lose. He argues that MJ played against garbage competition as compared to what Lebron plays against.
He thinks only people may age thinks MJ is the GOAT and I think only people that are of the age to have not seen both think Lebron is the GOAT.
