At the June 22-23 board meeting in Knoxville, Cheek will announce his retirement effective January 2017. This gives the President time to setup a search committee to seek out a diverse and talented group of candidates for his consideration.
The President will select one candidate and will present to the board for approval at a future meeting (maybe October?)
Is that a scenario that sounds likely?
