Many of you’d consider me a youngin’ still (tho my lower back and both knees would beg to differ), but I can’t help but think on how different recruiting has become just in a handful of years.
Long gone are the days of signing day surprises or even early-signing-day surprises. Now people are driven mad if they don’t know where a kid is committing 5 days before he actually commits. Part of it for sure has to do with the state of technology and the spread of information these days. A lot of it has to do with the “crystal balls” spoiling a kids moment.
But I can’t help but reflect on how different Tate’s recruitment would have felt 5 years ago, much less a decade+ ago. Feel like it leaves those who cover recruiting in a tough spot. All that to say props to you @Austin_Price for always keeping us as up to date as possible while still preserving what’s left of the surprise of recruiting.
