This is just my perspective and no one has to agree with me, but...
Coach Pruitt said at his introductory press conference that our fan base needs to have "positive energy." As fans, we cannot control anything other than positive attitudes to the VFLs that want to sign with us tomorrow.
We may grab a bunch of shockers tomorrow (ITS, Walker, Copeland) or we could miss on all of them. We don't know. The mods don't know. Crap, even some of these kids don't know right now.
With that being said, I trust this staff to develop players much more than the previous staff. We cannot act like Butch was just a crappy recruiter because he wasn't. We had a few top 10 classes during his 5 years here yet never made it to 10 wins. I trust that Pruitt knows how to both evaluate talent and coach. If we finish outside the top 20 tomorrow in the team rankings, who cares. It does not correlate to the field just yet. Now, the 2019 and 2020 classes will truly reflect his recruiting prowess and actually prove that recruiting matters on the field (see Alabama and UGA).
I'm eagerly hoping for the best tomorrow, but know that we hit rock bottom in November as a program. Only way to go is up!
