1) 1-0. A win is a win. As long as we keep winning, no one will look back on this game and care that it took OT to pull out the win.
2) Nice to finally win one that way after last year. Crazy how much of mirror image this game was of the OU game from 1 year ago. Good teams find ways to win games like that, even when they sometimes shouldn't. Not sure that any of our teams over the last 6-8 years pull that one out.
3) Defense played really well. Can't really blame any of the struggles on losing JRM, unless he was going to get some snaps on the O-Line.
4) DeBord and O-Line are huge question marks. Not sure how much each had to do with the other: DeBord's play calling leaving the O-Line exposed, or bad OL play limiting his play calling.
5) As others have pointed out, the offense will not be dynamic without Dobbs using his legs more. We clearly (and for good reason) had no plans to use Dobbs in the run game. I'm sure DeBord and Butch thought that it would not be necessary (as did many of the fans, me included). However, I think we were once again reminded how much this style of offense needs that threat.
Overall, I'm glad we can breath a sigh of relief this morning. Looking at the bright side, we faced adversity in a variety of ways and got tested, all while still getting the win. I think in many ways this could help us down the road. Now, we can all sit back and enjoy this weekend's slate of games as we get ready for the party in Bristol next weekend!!
