Because of work couldn’t go Thursday but after the way that night played out (UK losing) we brought tickets to Saturdays game.
The wife even decided to go so it was party of 4 for us.
1st Indy is a great sports town. A little frustrated with our teen boys that a couple bars by the arena decided to go 21+ only.
So we ended up a Goodwood, luckily we found a gem. Wings were great , good burgers and I got the brisket totchos which were excellent. Because it was so cold and windy outside we went in when the gates opened , only to learn the tip had been pushed back 35 minutes.
whatever the name of the Fieldhouse is now is a great place to watch a game. Feels new and very clean. Ohio St fans were sitting behind us , she tapped me on the shoulder pre game and ask “sir , do you guys always travel this well?”
Yes , yes we do mam!
the night sure didn’t go our way. Wasn’t for a lack of effort or gameplan. We just didn’t hit shots or get the breaks and a talented Michigan team played really well.
Dickenson and Brooks played out of their minds. Watching Dickenson in pregame , he’s a strange guy. Did a lot of stuff own his own and not with the team. Seems to beat to a different drum. If you’ve never been or taken your family to a Sec tourney , bowl game or NCAA game I highly recommend. It’s just a different feel of pride at a neutral field or arena. I love all the Go Vols as we walked around downtown Indy prior to tip off and of course made our way over to see Peyton standing outside of Lucas Oil.
The ride home wasn’t what we wished (was really quiet for about 90 minutes) but the 24 hours of a trip with my teen sons & wife I’d absolutely do it 100/100. And the next time we’ll do it again as Vol fans because that’s who we are. So yes , Ohio St fan we do always travel this well!
