just received this from one of my contacts at NASCAR. Good to see... Guess the Easter night race was a good move.
NASCAR sees ratings success for Easter dirt race at Bristol – 4/19/2022
Fox earned 4.007 million viewers for Sunday night's NASCAR Cup Series Bristol dirt race, the most-watched NASCAR event of any kind at Bristol Motor Speedway since spring '16. The race was up 20% from last year’s eighth points race -- held at Richmond -- and up 28% from last year’s Bristol dirt race that aired on a Monday in mid April due to a weather postponement. This year’s race was also weather-impacted with two delays from rain but NASCAR was ultimately able to finish the race on Sunday night. The event was NASCAR’s first race on Easter Sunday since 1989. It peaked with 4.518 million viewers before the first rain delay. Top five markets were Greensboro, Charlotte, Hartford, Jacksonville and Norfolk. For the season so far, NASCAR is up 17% from '21 with an average of 4.764M viewers (Adam Stern, SBJ).
