All coaches should be on 1 year contracts just like the student athletes. It is criminal the way a coach can fail at his job then cause the universities' Athletic Departments to nearly go bankrupt paying him for years not to coach. They claim they have to have these long term contracts for recruiting but that would be negated if everyone was year to year. If a coach can yank a scholarship the school should be able to fire a coach and not suffer financially. The member institutions should stand together and stop catering to this overpaid bunch of losers.
