As the picture shows I'm having some wiring issues and I want to hide the wires, however, I'm renting and I don't want to make too many cuts into the wall plus I already checked and I have a stud I would have to feed the wires through to redirect to my A/V shelf.

The only devices I have are:
1) direct tv receiver (HDMI)
2) 1st Gen Apple TV (HDMI)
3) PS4 (HDMI)
4) Sony Soundbar (running optical because I don't have a receiver)

Since I'm using a sound bar would it make sense to buy a receiver to feed all out my device HDMI outputs and send out the signal as one HDMI output through a A/V receiver?

Any tips on hiding wires above a hearth? My last rental home I didn't have a hearth and I used a wire cover and painted it to the existing wall color and worked nicely but I can't do it for this application.
