Unless we sell our soul and hire someone like Urban Meyer. The only other person like him is coaching Bama and is never leaving except to retire or maybe NFL. This program during a 12 game season is a 7 to 10 win team. It doesn’t matter who the coach is. It could be CJP, Leach, Mullen, Jimbo, Kiffin etc... unless it’s one of those two guys from above 7 to 10 is what we are.
We had everything set up right in the 90’s, Golf at UGA, Clemson had no clue what they were doing, LSU was a shit show, Bama was going through bad hire after bad hire but still had elite talent because of demographics, South Carolina and UK were doormats. Many of those teams are elite now and the doormats are at least competent now. Everyone of the teams I named that’s not UK has better demographics than us and will always have an easier path to elite players.
If Saban retired tomorrow and left Bama to Pruitt he would win at an elite level immediately because the job is already set up for massive success. Im not defending CJP by saying that.
FTR, I’m not in favor of selling our soul and hiring a POS Urban Meyer. Just saying unless we did, we are gonna be a second rate program and a second rate program in the SEC is always gonna lose at least 2 games a year and usually more.
