Reading the chat, it sounds like Vescovi is likely back, and KC and JJJ will explore their options before making a decision. Other than Fulky and VB (who I know has a COVID year, but is likely done), it seems like everyone else should be back. Of course, there are almost always transfers, whether expected or not. Point is, its theoretically possible that we return the entire team sans Fulky and VB, and add BJ Edwards. If that happened, we would probably be pre-season top-5. My questions is, how much could and should we allocate towards NIL deals to hypothetically make sure that happens?
Who would require major deals, and how much? KC would obviously be the highest, but how much would get him to stay, or how much would it be worth? Is 3 million an outlandish number? 5? What about JJJ? If BHH or Aidoo wanted a 7 figure deal, should we?
To add to it, say we have a fairly fixed pool of NIL funds for all sports, for argument's sake 30mil. How much of that are we willing to allocate toward basketball if it means returning a top 5 team? If it caused the football signing class to drop from top 5 to top 10 is it worth it? Or maybe it costs our top recruit. There has to be a trade-off. How big should the trade be is the question.
