Next year will lack the big names, the glamor, and the big play capacity. Under any scenario we will have depth issues ar some positions and replacing a QB particularly one as dynamic as Josh Dobbs is ALWAYS problematic. But we won't be without some high end players, some explosiveness, and some real potential.
Our OL has a chance to be really good next year and you can't minimize the importance of that. We could (should) have 2 fine SEC RBs and we will have 2 maybe 3 QBs with a lot of potential battling for the job. I feel confident that our starter will be a good one and if he protects the ball canf be a good effective SEC QB next year and a really good one down the road.
Defensively we will be thin at LB but will have 3-4 guys that can be solid to really good. How well the DL recovers from injuries will tell the tale on how thin we are there. But make no mistake about it there are multiple HIGH END SEC players at both DE and DT when healthy. We can be better on my he back end as well.
We return both kickers and one is arguably the best punter in the league. Our kick off return man is the best in a he country and we have a returning freshman punt returner that already has a punt return TD and another 50 yard return in just a handful of touches. Our STs should be very good.
Don't underestimate Byrd and Warrior as big time playmakers wherever they are on the field next year either. I am not getting ahead of myself or looking through orange colored glasses. The ceiling next year isn't near what it was this year. But IF we can stay health there is no reason we can't can't be be a good team and compete the at a high level and perhaps win the east. We may not but with a couple or 3 Coaching upgrades, talented guys that were in the shadows stepping up, and guys coming back from injuries next year's team can be better and go further than this year's extremely talented team that ras devistated by injuries.
