NFL Combine QB Velocity Reports - DesHaun Watson Pedestrian 49 mph

This is bad news for DeShaun Watson and the Houston Texans. Watson throws a 49 mph foootball, a very slow velocity and weak arm.

You always hear how arm strength isn't that important & accuracy, processing ability, movement skills, etc are more important. This may be so but you need a certain base level of arm strength to make certain throws. It doesn't matter how quickly you decipher a defense if the ball takes too long to get there.

In this article Benjamin Allbrighr states that basically no QB under 55 MPH has been successful. There's a caveat with Tyrod Taylor & Dak, who did 50 & 52, as they were apparently dealing with shoulder issues when they threw, which makes sense because they can certainly sling it.
