They haven't played anyone so you can really throw the numbers out - at least as a primary measurable. They didn't add a freshman all-american or anything like that (to my knowledge). They lost five draft picks to their defense alone including two first round draft picks from their secondary. They lost their best D-lineman and they lost their best two if you count losing Dante Fowler since the last time we played in Neyland.
I can't see any objective metric watching them or on paper that would say they are better. I'm genuinely curious because even the mods are acting like they are improved so I am curious.
By the way, we scored 27 on them last year in Gainesville and arguable could have scored into the thirties easily if the ball bounces our way (or the wind doesn't magically gust right during the final kick).
