Happy Saturday night. Or Sunday morning. However you want to look at it.
Here's my notes/thoughts from my rewatch of Tennessee's loss to No. 1 Georgia.....
Hendon Hooker vs. pressure: 1/2, 29 yards, sacked 4 times. As has been the case every week, Hooker didn't throw against pressure a ton because of quick throws and when Georgia did get pressure, it resulted in a sack.
Georgia primarily brought four or five-man rushes. Against a 4-man rush, which UGA brought 45% of the time, Hooker was 9-for-11 for 57 yards and sacked twice. Against a 5-man rush, which was 37% of the time, he was 12-of-17 for 161 yards.
Georgia brought just three rushers three different times. And it was far too successful, resulting in an interception, a sack and an incompletion. I did not see a single 7-man rush. But it did bring a 6-man rush 11% of the time, which Hooker was 3-for-6 for 25 yards and a touchdown against.
Hooker on third down: 4-for-9, 69 yards, TD — was successful on just three of nine third downs when passing. On 4th down, Hooker was 2-for-3 for 20 yards, as he was successful on 2 of his 3 fourth downs when passing.
I deemed 54% of Tennessee's runs successful against Georgia. The Bulldogs were successful on 60% of their runs.
Tennessee missed 16 tackles by my count. Kamal Hadden and Jeremy Banks had three, Jaylen McCollough had 2 and then Aaron Beasley, Trevon Flowers, Matthew Butler, Roman Harrison, Caleb Tremblay, Ja'Quain Blakely, Alontae Taylor and Tyler Baron all had one.
Tennessee brought a 4-man rush against Stetson Bennett about 40% of the time and a 5-man rush 31% of the time. They only brought three on three occasions. They did not bring seven at all, but did bring six on five occasions.
Bennett was 8-of-12 for 122 yards against a 4-man rush, 3-of-7 for 44 yards and a touchdown against a 5-man rush, 2-of-4 for 23 yards against a 6-man rush and 1-of-2 for 15 yards against a 3-man rush.
Bennett scrambled for a first down (13 yards) and a touchdown (15 yards) against a 5-man rush.
Bennett vs. pressure: 1-of-8 for 8 yards
Bennett on third down: 5-of-8, 48 yards, Successful on 4 of his 8 throws
