This is JMO, and a possibility I could get behind.....
First, a sitting, and successful head coach will be a miracle hire....why would they want to jeopardize their career with the sanctions looming and much trouble ahead for 1-3 years with our roster....I just really don't see that...
Here is a scenario I could totally support...even though not sure VN would:
Hire D Cutcliffe as HC, 3 year deal ....He is older, about done and could help navigate us through the tough patch....He is an excellent Admin type...very high character and integrity, which I think DW wants....He is VFL that could bridge us to the future. Manning and Haslams would love this, and It could get you in the Arch Manning sweepstakes....
Hire and OC at 2mil (lebby, elliot, chadwell??) that could be AHC and Coach in waiting...this allows them to learn the SEC, the team, and the job of HC while leading the offense.
Surround this team with highest paid staff of assistants....get folks on board....

Their are openings for new coach to fill, but we have some we retain to keep current roster...
