After a missed FG the shot clock resets to only 14 seconds rather than the full 24. I think the NBA and college should adopt this rule as well.....14 seconds for the NBA (instead of 24) and 20 for college (from 30).

Reducing the shot clock from 35 to 30 was a great move for CBB and I think this would be as well. In fact, it's probably more needed in CBB as there is often a much bigger height discrepancy in college than in the NBA where every team has 7 footers.

There's nothing worse than watching a team like Kentucky, with multiple 7 footers on the floor at a time, getting multiple full 30 second possessions in a row against an undersized team like UT (or most mid majors) that struggles to get rebounds with 6'7 posts going up against giants.

Run shot clock down to 5 seconds, jack up shot, miss, 7 footer gets the rebound and kicks it back out, reset. Run shot clock down to 5 second, jack up another shot, miss, get the rebound again, reset again, etc etc etc.

20 seconds is more than enough time to get another quality possession after a missed FG....especially considering you don't have to factor in the 10 seconds it takes to bring the ball up the court
