Is this idea that all we need at position coach spots are great recruiters. Both Butch and Pruitt initially had solid coaching staffs, even though there was a lot of fun poked at Jones for his "best coaching staff in America" line after he brought all those guys from Cincy. But then both of them quickly got impatient and started a revolving door coaching program trying to bring in heavy hitting recruiters, and suddenly we couldn't get our heads out of our arses.
I like this staff that Heupel has put together, even though the process was painful to watch on the defensive side of the ball. But all of these guys are known to be good at teaching their positions, and that's what we need the most right now. We've got to get the players we have to win a few games and then the recruiting will sort itself out.
