This decision was made by the CSU network of schools (I.e. Fresno, San Diego State, San Jose State), not the UC system (Berkeley, UCLA).
Now, I could see the UC system following suit but as of now, this doesn’t directly impact the two big State schools in the PAC-12.
Stanford and USC are private institutions so they kind of operate in their own bubbles.
