My gated community states: "No private golf carts (gas or electric) or any other cart like vehicle shall be in permitted in the Community."
The State of Florida specifically differentiates a golf cart from a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV). A LSV is street legal and can be driven in Florida on streets that have a MPH of 35 or less. Registered and insured, of course.
Do I have a case to buy a LSV to use for small errands and to travel to neighboring communities that do allow golf carts? Can a HOA community tell me I can not drive a completely street legal vehicle just because they believe it resembles a golf cart? I understand why I wouldn't be allowed to. But also understand why a LSV could be excluded.
