We have a Moen rain shower head and valve in our shower… we installed this like 8 years ago. Recently, the handle on the valve started wobbling and was very hard to turn off. Tonight I tightened the insert screw and it was still doing the same thing and the valve has since stopped completely turning off the water. I felt as though the handle was stripped or something similar.
So, my question is, can I replace the valve only, and will it replace the entire insert that goes into the wall? Or, would you take this opportunity to replace shower head and valve? I’m assuming the chances of finishing the same valve to match the shower head are very slim… also, this isn’t a terribly difficult install is it? I did it 8 years ago, but can’t remember it being difficult. Thanks!
